A Private Family Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon, Iowa with Pastor Zac Patke ~ officiating. Visitation and a time of fellowship will be at 5:15pm for family and friends at the Pizza Ranch in Sheldon, Iowa. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon, Iowa. JONGERIUS Toni Marie Jongerius, the daughter of Lonnie and Beverly (Bonderman) Lewis was born on October 7, 1954 in Storm Lake, Iowa. As a child she moved to Sheldon with her parents where she attended school and graduated from Sheldon High School in 1973, she had also lived in Archer, Iowa with her grandparents for a while and in Ashton, Iowa. Toni was united in marriage to Kelvin “Kelly” Jongerius on July 30, 1981 in Sibley, Iowa. Toni had worked several different jobs including being a waitress, a bank teller, the manager for the movie theater and video rental store, also at the Fitness Center in Sheldon before becoming the Parts Assistant for Glen’s Sport Center in Sheldon. Toni passed away at the Sanford Sheldon Medical Center in Sheldon on Saturday, March 19, 2022, reaching the age of 67 years, 5 months and 12 days. Toni attended the Crossroads Community Church in Sheldon. She had many interests and hobbies to include, her health and walking, arts and crafts, ceramics, shopping and dining out, puzzles, making beaded dollies, making Birthday Cakes, reading and her dogs and cats. Left to cherish Toni’s memory are her husband, Kelvin “Kelly” of Sheldon; her son Justin and his wife, Robin Jongerius of LeMars, Iowa 2 granddaughters, Jordyn and Shaylei; her sister, Kathy (Robert) Verdoorn of Hospers, Iowa and a brother, Steve Lewis of Sheldon; other relatives, and friends. Toni was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Beverly Lewis, a grandson, Jagar King; 2 sisters, Pamela Bode and Linda Lindbeck.Obituary
