Amy Perreault

<p>Amy Perreault, 71, of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, March 20, 2022.</p> <p>Amy was born December 14, 1950, in Wilmington, Delaware, to Milton and Lena (Hoffman) Rapkin. She graduated from high school in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania in 1969, and received a degree in fashion merchandising from Pierce Junior College. Amy enlisted in the Air Force in 1973. While serving at Shephard Air Force Base in Texas, she met the love of her life, Arthur Perreault on the 4th of May. They married 5 weeks later, on the 16th of June 1973. While raising their family, the couple resided in Davenport, IA, Bloomfield, NM, and Millbury, MA, settling back in Iowa in 1993. They retired to DeWitt in 2017. She worked in retail for 28 years, and had a wonderful talent for helping people find the right clothing to purchase.</p> <p>Amy was a voracious reader, often reading multiple books at a time. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved dogs and was never without one in her life. She had a great sense of humor, sharing funny memes and movie quotes with her loved ones regularly. She was also a great fan of the Far Side comic, and the book Awkward Family Photos which, for many years, she would flip through when she needed a laugh.</p> <p>She is survived by her husband, Arthur; sons, Michael (Veronica) Perreault, and Shane Perreault both of Davenport; grandchildren, Melody (Violet) Perreault and their son, Michael, and Taylor (Michael Walker) and their daughters, Elaina and Arella; a brother, Jeffrey Rapkin.</p> <p>She was preceded in death by her parents, and a daughter by choice, Melinda Tate.</p> <p>A Celebration of Life will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints in DeWitt, at a later date.</p> <p>Arrangements are in the care of Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt.
