In loving memory of Fred Pepper, loving husband, father, Papa, and great grand papa. Fred Pepper, age 85. Beloved husband of Elizabeth “Ann” together for 63 years of marriage. Adored father of Krista and Diana. Cherished grandfather “Papa” of Kyle, Nikki, Michael, Sean and Ryan. Dear great grandpapa of Max and Adaleigh. Fred was born in San Diego, California and was raised in Denver, Colorado. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps.He attended Montana State University and Colorado State University where he received his Master's Degree in Chemistry. He worked as a national park ranger at Devil’s Tower National Monument. He attended Michigan State University where he received his PhD in Food Science. Fred retired from the USDA where he was the director of the laboratory in Chicago. Fred had an amazing memory for facts, a wealth of knowledge of history, and had a great interest in vintage movies and actors. He loved nothing more than to talk to veterans about their service and would remember their stories in great detail. His love for his buddies Thor and Gunnar ran deep in his soul. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Semper Fi
