Kathy Metzendorf Samec Mcray

Kathy Judith Metzendorf Samec Mcray, 66, of Holly Hill, entered into eternal rest on March 17, 2022 at her home. Born on October 25, 1955 in Roanoke, Virginia. Kathy was a daughter of the late Robert “Bob” Henry Metzendorf and Carlotta "Cookie" Metzendorf. Kathy graduated from Elloree High School and went on to study at Santa Fe College in Gainesville, Florida. Kathy lived an adventures life from prom queen and cheerleading and enjoyed time spent on the lake. She worked many years as a loan officer and branch manager for a local bank in Santee. Kathy loved working with her bank family and meeting new people. Kathy could light up the room with her contagious laugh and her quick witted responses. Kathy was known for her kind heart, caring soul, and always had a willingness to take care of others. She loved to cook and share meals with friends. Lamb, Veal, and Prime Rib were her specialty. She could have rivaled any Top Chef. Kathy is survived by her son whom she adored and was so very proud of: Brian Samec and his wife Racheal of Apollo Beach, Florida; three granddaughters; Savannah, Brooke and Caroline; a sister; Linda Felder; a brother: Roy Metzendorf and his wife Tandy; a sister in law, Sabrina O'Brien and several nieces and nephews. Kathy is predeceased by her parents; her brother Mark and his wife Karen. Services will be held privately by the family.
