DEFOREST - Bart Halderson, age 50, and Krista Halderson, age 53, husband and wife, residing in DeForest, both passed away in early July 2021.

Bart A. Halderson was born on May 14, 1971, in Sheboygan, Wis., the son of Blake and Kayleen (Gosz) Halderson.

Krista Rae (Frater) Halderson was born on Jan. 25, 1968, in Madison, Wis., the daughter of Andrew and Betty (Warner) Frater.

Bart graduated from Valders High School in 1989 and Krista graduated from Madison East High School in 1986. Both earned bachelor’s degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Bart and Krista were united in marriage on July 30, 1994.

Bart was employed as a certified accountant for BDO, USA and Krista was an administrative assistant for Zimbrick Automotive.

Bart and Krista enjoyed spending time with their two sons, Mitchell and Chandler, raising their two dogs, Izzy and Rizzo, and hanging out with close friends. They liked going to Badgers football games and Concerts on the Square. They actively supported several community organizations, including the Kiwanis, Boy Scouts of America, the Optimists and UW-Madison Outreach. Bart was an avid golfer and was immersed in home remodeling. Krista enjoyed crafts, cooking and interior decoration. Most importantly, they were devoted parents and loving husband and wife.

Bart and Krista are survived by their sons Mitchell (fiancée, Caitlin Nejedlo) and Chandler; Bart’s parents, Blake and Kayleen Halderson; Bart’s brother, Brett (Angela) Halderson; Krista’s brother, Norm (Georganna) Frater; Krista’s sisters, Marcia (Barclay) Gilpin and Ardyce Stowell; and many other family and friends. They were preceded in death by Krista’s parents, Betty Rae and A. Kermit Frater
