Leslie Z. Plump passed away in the early morning of March 12, 2022, after a protracted course of Multiple Sclerosis. He died in his home in Jupiter, Florida, surrounded by family.
Leslie was born in Bayside, New York, in 1934, the only child of Norma and Meyer Plump. He went to Bayside High in Queens and graduated from Cornell University and then Columbia Law School.
He is survived by his devoted spouse of 65 years Ruthye Plump; five children: Steven (Kathy), Jennifer (Clifford), Andrew (Suzanne), Karen (Greg), Kathy (Pedro) and 11 grandchildren: Josh, Jeremy, Caty, Tim, Lea, Jeffrey, Ali, Eva, Emily, Mateo and Daisy and his little dog Lucy.
Leslie had a large extended family in Connecticut with whom he would spend holidays. The Plump family home was in Glen Cove, NY where he was active in numerous community causes. His law firm maintained offices in Manhattan, Jericho and Westchester, NY. The New York Mets were his team.
Leslie had a life long affinity for Cornell University. For many years he served as an Alumni Ambassador interviewing prospective applicants.
A private family memorial was held at his home in Jupiter, Florida.
