Shirl Jean Campbell, age 75, longtime resident of Hollis, Oklahoma and formerly of Ft. Worth, Texas, passed away on Friday March 11, 2022 at the Harmon Memorial Hospital in Hollis.

Shirl was born on July 2, 1946 to her parents Ocel Carroll and Lillie B. Crowder Carroll. Shirl grew up in Dawson, Texas and Hollis, she attended school in Dawson, Texas from 1955 to 1957 until the family moved to Hollis, Oklahoma where she graduated from Arnett School May of 1965. Shortly after high school, Shirl married her one and only love, Joe Ed Campbell, Sr. on February 8, 1968 and they enjoyed over 45 years of marriage together before Joe's death on February 22, 2013. Shirl accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior on November 22, 1972. She was a faithful member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Christ, Ft. Worth, Texas-Elder R.L. You could get her BBQ at garage sales, park events, or she would have it delivered to you. Mrs. C. also canned her own jelly from the wild berries she picked herself.
