John Patrick Lane Sr.

<p>John Patrick Lane Sr., age 77, of Middleburg, Florida, passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2022, after a long struggle with several illnesses. He was born on November 8, 1944, in Fort Myers, Florida, to John Patrick and Goldie Mary (Tippie) Flahavin. The past 20 years he has been living on Black Creek in Middleburg. John was a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. He was an avid stamp and coin collector. He loved being outside on the water, fishing, scuba diving, or in the garage working on vehicles. He proudly served six years on the USS Saratoga CV-60 in our Nation&rsquo;s United States Navy.<br /> John was preceded in death by his parents, and his grandson, Mark Lane. Survivors include his daughter, Paula Brittain (Bobby) of Glen St. Mary; stepdaughter, Lindsey Carter (Chris) of Jacksonville; sons, John Patrick Lane Jr. (Beth) of Oceanway, Roy Michael Lane of Glen St. Mary, Daniel Keith Lane (Michelle) of Bryceville, and Scott Cruse (Amanda) of Middleburg; brothers, Mike Flahavin (Cathy) of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Jerry Flahavin (Kasia) of Tinley Park, Illinois; 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.<br /> Private family services will be held.<br /> Cremation arrangements are entrusted to the care of BLACKBURN-CURRY FUNERAL &amp; CREMATION, 380 N.
