Helen “Janette” Cooke
Mrs. Helen Janette Cooke, 81, of York, S.C., went home to be with the Lord on March
6, 2022 at Atrium Healthcare, Charlotte, North Carolina. She was a native of Charlotte
N.C., and preceded in death by her late husband of 42 years, Thomas “Carl” Cooke, her
grandson, Daniel Wade Cooke Jr.“ DJ”, her mother Juanita Clarkson Fox, and her step
father Wade Hampton Fox.
Janette, or “Momanet” as she was known, was a sweet loving mother and grandmother.
She is survived by two brothers, Robert “Bobby” Fox of Longview Wa.,Jack Stallings of
Clover, S.C., and sister, Martha “Marty” Fox of Charlotte N,C. Two daughters, Debora
“Dee Dee” Kelso of Gastonia N.C., and Sherrie Hurt of Wilmington N.C. Two sons,
Daniel Wade Cooke Sr. of York S.C., and Thomas “Tommy” Cooke of Charlotte N.C.
Two daughter-in-laws, Minnie & Lorna Cooke, one son-n-law, Ken Kelso, and Two
sister-n-laws, Lavern Fox & Mary Lou.
Eleven grandchildren: Audy Indrieri, Josh Cook, Brandee Lopez, Tifeny Haden, Jeremy
Davis, Shayne Davis, Blake Davis, Chris Cooke, Timmy Cooke, Holly Seiger and
Shelby Goodman. Two adopted grandchildren: Eli Kelso, and Konner Kelso.
Sixteen great grandchildren: Marco and Della Indrieri, Chris and Bella Cook, Malakiy,
Stella, and Lucas Lopez, Hunter and Levi Haden, Khai and Jaiden Cooke, Savana and
Coy Davis, Lindsay Davis, Marshall and Laney Davis. She was also blessed to have
many wonderful nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at 1:00 on March 15 in the chapel of Bass Cauthen Funeral Home,
700 Heckle Blvd. Rock Hill, S.C. 29730. A celebration of her life will follow at 2:00
with Pastor Ken Jones officiating. Her body will be laid to rest along side her husband in
Rock Hill Memorial Gardens
