Daniel Bryan Linden Obituary

Daniel Bryan Linden, 64, of Youngwood died the morning of Saturday March 5, 2022.  He was born on January 21, 1958 in Mt. Pleasant, one of three sons to the late Robert and Janet Heimann Linden.

Dan was raised in Youngwood and was a graduate of Hempfield High school class of 1976.  He was a great leader with deep dedication to his community, his church, and unfaltering loyalty to his family. Dan was a tremendous father, the best brother you could have, and the most cherished grandfather. He had wicked sense of humor, would enlightened every group he was in, and friends quickly knew they were family.  Dan was a natural athlete, a member of the NRA, avid sportsman, active in many Beagle Clubs across western Pennsylvania, and faithful parishioner of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church of Youngwood, where he played a significant role in many sectors of his church.  He worked for the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, a job that presented its own challenges but never took away Dan’s light- hearted free spirit, and true zest for life.  Dan will be sorely missed for his headstrong determination, unwavering commitment to God and his family, and the everlasting passion for life he engrained in all of our lives.  Dan is survived by his beloved daughter Ottilie (Joshua) Ritenour, his precious grandchildren; Gaige and Tayiah Keefer, & Isaiah and Landon Ritenour, his two brothers; Timothy and Jeffrey Linden, aunts; Nancy (Robert) Haines, Patricia Gatons, and Josephine Linden, numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins.  In addition to his parents, he was met in his next phase by his grandparents; George and Josephine Heimann and Ellen Linden, and Uncle Terrence Gatons. Please join us to celebrate and honor Dan’s life with a viewing on Friday March 11 from 4 to 8 p.m. with PA Honor Guard Flag Presentation at 8 p.m. at ASHLEY D. X. NYE CREMATION CARE & FUNERAL HOME INC. 408 Depot St. Youngwood.
