Michael Tamburino Obituary

Michael Tamburino, 50, of Bethel, CT, peacefully passed away on March 7, 2022, surrounded by loved ones, after a difficult, but courageous battle with ALS.

Mike was born on August 10, 1971 in Carmel, NY. He is survived by his parents Louise (Gorey) of Glens Falls, NY and Fred Tamburino of Jericho, NY. He is survived by his two brothers Peet (Michelle), James and his sister Janine. Mike graduated from Carmel High School in 1989, and pursued a career at Servco Oil as an HVAC Tech from 1992 through 2020.

In 1987, he met his high school sweetheart Lois at Carmel High School, at a school dance. Mike and Lois were married in 1992 and went on to have four beautiful children, Matthew, Joshua, David, and Hannah.

Mike was extremely involved in each of his children’s lives, whether it was coaching, refereeing, or attending dance recitals. The most important things in life were his family whom he loved beyond words. Mike had a natural calling to work with the youth in his community. He was celebrated last summer by the Bethel Baseball Association and was inducted into the State of CT Babe Ruth League, Inc Hall of Fame. Bethel Baseball also named an award for him, The  Mike Tamburino Lifetime Achievement Award. He was so overwhelmed and appreciative of both of these honors. He was a member of both the Bethel Baseball and Bethel Youth Lacrosse boards. Mike was an avid sports fan always cheering for the Yankees, Patriots and his favorite NY Rangers. He had an unmatched passion for music and concerts of all genres. Mike became an active member of the ALS community after his 2016 diagnosis. He helped others who were afflicted with this debilitating disease.

Calling hours will be held at Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Ave., Bethel on Friday March 11, 2022 from 5-8 PM, and the funeral will be held at Bethel United Methodist Church on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 2 PM.
