Reverend Joseph C. Thigpen, Sr. transitioned on 2-07-2022 in Florida.  Celebrating the Life, Love, Leadership & Legacy of Reverend Joseph C.  Thigpen will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 12 noon at Philippi Church of Christ,  3760 Philippi Dr. Greenville, North Carolina. Bishop C. Sterling Davis ll, officiant, Rev. Da'Shaun Burell, Eulogist.

He is survived by his wife Elder  Lolietta Thigpen of the home, five sons, Joseph C. Thigpen Jr. (Rashida ), Aaron Thigpen (Rosana) Coral Springs, Fl., Rodney G. Thigpen (Melissa) Palm Beach Garden Fl., Terrell L. Thigpen (Shellyann) Sunrise, Florida, and MichaelThigpen, New Jersey.  Three daughters Alicia B. Thigpen, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Mary Vereen, Newport News, Virginia and Gwendolyn  M.  Bartlett, (Lamont) Charlotte, N. C.. Five brothers, Ernest Thigpen (Annie) Tarboro,NC, Dennis Thigpen,Pinetops N.C., George Thigpen (Dianna) Rocky Mount, N.C., Kenneth Thigpen (Ada), Wilson, N.C. District Elder Elester K. Thigpen Sr. (Joyce) Greenville, N.C. and one sister in law Bettie Jean Farmer Thigpen, Pinetops, N.C. twenty -three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
