Fitchburg-Carmen Maria Torres, 66, died in UMass Memorial Medical Center, Worcester on Friday, March 4, 2022.

   Carmen was born in Gurabo, Puerto Rico on April 23, 1955, a daughter of the late Juan de la Cruz Torres and Martha Guadalupe of Gurabo, Puerto Rico. She was the beloved wife of the late Jonathan Lopez.

   Carmen grew up and lived in Puerto Rico before moving to Fitchburg over 30 years ago. In her spare time, she enjoyed shopping, eating out at nice restaurants and traveling. More than anything, she cherished time spent with her beloved family. Carmen will be remembered as a great mother, grandmother, daughter and friend. She was a loving and kind person who loved animals.

   Carmen is survived by her three children, Carmen Lopez and her husband Jose Rodriguez, Luis Lopez and David Lopez and his wife Victoria Lopez all of Fitchburg, MA; 7 grandchildren, Ruth Rodriguez and her husband Jorge Torres, Jailene Lopez, Adamarie Lopez, Jonnathan Rodriguez, Giovani Lopez, Yavian Lopez and Iliannis Lopez; and two brothers, Efrain Rodriguez of Fitchburg, MA and William Rodriguez of Gurabo, Puerto Rico.

   Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2022, from 11:00AM – 12:00PM in the Smith-Mallahy-Masciarelli and the Fitchburg Chapel of the Sawyer-Miller-Masciarelli Funeral Homes, 243 Water Street, Fitchburg, MA 01420.

   Her funeral service will take place in the funeral home at 12:00PM.

   Burial to follow in Forest Hill Cemetery, 115 Mt. Elam Road, Fitchburg, MA 01420.
