Richard C. Burton Jr.

<p>Richard C. Burton Jr, &ldquo;Jay&rdquo;, age 56, unexpectedly went home to be with the Lord on March 7, 2022. He was born in Barberton on January 2, 1966, to Richard and Joyce (Cheatham) Burton. He is a graduate of Barberton High School and the University of Akron with a degree in accounting. Prior to entering college, he faithfully served in the US Army for 3 years. He has been employed by the City of Canton in the Income Tax Department since 2001 where he served as a corporate tax auditor. &nbsp;Jay was an avid family man, spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved following the Cleveland Browns and traveling with his good friend Don. Jay was an active member at Faith Family Church where he spent time volunteering in the parking lot helping direct traffic.</p> <p>Richard is preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Lawrence. He is survived by his children Natasha, Sarah, and Nathanael; grandchildren Hezekiah and Kendalyn; sisters Charlene, Anita, and Lisa; brothers Pat (Stephanie) and Tim (Lora); mother of his children, Laura Hetrick.</p> <p>Calling hours will be held Thursday, March 10 from 4-5 PM at Faith Family Church, Funeral services will begin in the church at 5 PM with Pastor Jack Pancher officiating. Private burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery where full military honors will be rendered.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
