STURGE, Arthur Wilfred – It is with great sadness the family of Arthur Wilfred Sturge announces his passing at 95 years of age on Monday, March 7, 2022.  Leaving to mourn yet celebrate his legacy are Mary (nee Diamond) his loving wife of 73 years, his daughters: Beverley Radford (William), Irene Sturge (Scotty Aldie), Janice Cowan (Craig) and sister Clemmie Singer residing in Ontario.  He also leaves his six grandchildren: Keith Radford (Nicola), Virginia Middleton (Matt), Megan Cowan (Eric Cantin), Steven Cowan (Eda), Adam Tilley (Jessica), Laura Sparrow (Noel) and 11 great grandchildren whom he adored.  Arthur was predeceased by 2 infant sons: Gary Keith and Donald Roy, parents: David and Irene Sturge, brothers: Bill and Ron.  Fondly remembered for his wit and energy are his many nieces, nephews and friends of all ages, especially his buddies Sandy Hounsell and Clayton Pardy.  Art will be remembered for his love of the outdoors and any sport involving wildlife.  In his latter years he was a proud consistent swimmer at the Aquarena and the Summit.  Cremation has taken place at Barrett’s Funeral Home.  Due to COVID concerns there will be no visitation.  A memorial service will be held at Cowan Heights United Church on Friday, March 11, 2022 at 11:00 a.m.  Proof of vaccination and masks are required to attend.
