<p>Audrey Loretta Garvey, n&eacute;e Pilgrim departed from her earthly body and ascended to heaven on February 26, 2022. Born in St. Michael, Barbados on July 17, 1929 to the late Hilton and Ellen Pilgrim, she met her 8 siblings, Eileen, Kathleen, Sheila, Michael, Edward, John, Brenda and Jessie at the pearly gates of Heaven. &nbsp;Audrey was a devout wife to the late Basil Garvey and leaves behind her sister, Adren (Odessa) Poplin; stepsons Wayne and Barrington; stepdaughters Monica and Maureen; goddaughter Lucene (Patsy) Brewster; godson Stuart Poplin Sr, and a host of nieces, nephews, step grandchildren, family and friends in The US, Barbados, Canada, Sweden and the UK .&nbsp;</p> <p>Audrey immigrated to the US in 1969 and worked as a private healthcare provider. &nbsp;She loved to garden, bake and shop. &nbsp;She was famous for making the best Pudding and Souse, hamburgers, cheesecake and coffee cake; and anytime she opened her purse, one would find a piece of cake or &ldquo;something sweet to eat&rdquo; hidden inside. Audrey helped many of her family members immigrate and settle into their new lives in the US. &nbsp;She will be fondly remembered for her generous heart, lively spirit, unique driving skills and infamous Christmas Eve parties. &nbsp;</p> <p>Auntie Audrey was an active member of Liberty Christian Center and served dutifully on the Mission Board until she was physically unable to continue. &nbsp;On a sunny afternoon, many would find her planting flowers and plants around the perimeter of the church. Auntie leaves behind a legacy of love and generosity; she will be forever missed.</p> <p>A special thank you to her healthcare worker and niece Marcy Drake, who took great care of her and held her hand as she passed; Ronald Pitter and neighbors Winnie and Shelly Brown, Ken Drakes and Mr. Stanley.</p> <p>Services will be held on Friday, March 11th at Liberty Christian Center, 23 Vine St in the city of Hartford. &nbsp;Calling hours are at 10 AM, funeral services at 11 AM and the interment will be immediately after at Mountain View Cemetery, Bloomfield. &nbsp;Funeral arrangements are entrusted to All Faith Memorial Chapel in South Windsor.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

Audrey Loretta Garvey, née Pilgrim departed from her earthly body and ascended to heaven on February 26, 2022.
