Carl Leonard Crockford Obituary

Carl L. Crockford, age 74, a resident of Goffstown, NH, passed away at Hillsborough County Nursing Home on Tuesday, March 1, 2022.


He was born in Cambridge on February 14, 1948, and was the son of the late Roger and Margaret (Foye) Crockford.


After studying for three years at Bentley College, Carl was employed by W.H. Nichols Company in Waltham as Computer Center Manager; from there, in 1978, he moved to Digital Equipment Corporation in 1978 joining the business group selling to the education market as Technical Sales Support Specialist and later as Regional Business Manager. In 1985 he joined the Technical OEM group as Regional Business Manager. After leaving Digital in 1992, he joined the US branch of the Danish software company Maconomy. In 1994 he founded Creative Sales, a Marketing Program company. In 1996 he relocated to joining Wyle Services Corporation as Marketing Manager in Los Angeles and subsequently in Palo Alto. Then in 1998, he founded Aquaclean Tile and Grout in San Juan Capistrano, which he ran until his retirement for health reasons in 2008, living in Nashua, New Hampshire, to be close to his dearest friends, until his admission to the Hillsborough Nursing Home in 2019.


Carl’s personality and charm earned him a large circle of friends who remained close throughout his adult life. His commitment to friends was total, and he was always there to support them in celebration and sorrow.

Carl had numerous hobbies, including target shooting, motorcycling, and SCUBA diving, most of them in the company of his closest friends.


Carl is survived by his older sister Linda Healion, her husband, Michael Healion, younger sister Janice Barsoian, her husband Michael Barsoian, and her sons Mark Norton, Dennis Norton, Sean Norton, and his closest friends Marilyn Jenney, Ruth Clark, Anker Berg-Sonne and Kirsten Berg-Sonne.


He is predeceased by his parents and closest friend and supporter Bill Clark.


Visiting hours will be held on Monday, March 14, from 10 am to 12 pm at the Blake Chelmsford Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., Chelmsford. A Funeral Service will follow at 12 pm in the funeral home. Interment to follow in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Carl’s memory to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s research at michaeljfox.org. or Joslin Diabetes Center at joslin.org.
