Norma Faye Hutchison Obituary

Norma Faye Hutchison, 86 years young, passed away Monday, February 14, 2022, in her sleep following a lengthy illness at Country Club Nursing Home. She was born in Chesterville, Ohio to the late Frank & Flora (Cole) Mann. She attended Danville High School. 

She is survived by her children; Julie Fowler-Herring (Patty Herring), Rick (Annette) Hunter; Grandsons, Ricky (Calli) Hunter and Nick Hunter; great-grandson, Leo Hunter; niece, Jessica (Kevin) Goossens; and guardian angel, Teresa Rousseau. 

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Hunter and second husband, Homer Hutchison; siblings, Herman (Martha) Mann, Kenneth (Carol) Mann, Marjorie Cole; and cousin, Jeannie Farrell. 

She worked as a TPW (aide) at MVDC for 20 years and many years as a cashier for Victory, Wee’s Cardinal Market & IGA. She was an avid gardener, and wonderful cook. She collected owls and enjoyed golfing & bowling. She enjoyed having Longaberger Basket, Home Interior and Tupperware parties with friends. She loved children and animals. She enjoyed home interior decorating and decorating for each holiday, especially Christmas. Most of all, she loved spending time and holidays with her family. She loved country (George Jones, Conway Twitty) and old bluegrass music. She helped form a euchre club with Martha Mann & Betty Gilbert, which continues to this day by later generations. She was a member of Howard United Methodist Church in Howard, Ohio, and First Christian Church in Mt. Vernon, where she and her sister-in-law Martha Mann cooked and fed the homeless for many years. She enjoyed helping others and always added a special flare to whatever meal, flower arrangement or social event she attended. 

Calling hours to be held Friday, March 11, 2022, from 12-1 pm followed by a funeral service performed by Pastor Jamie Gump. A face mask is required for attendance.  Burial will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
