Jeff L Wisecarver Obituary

Jeff L. Wisecarver, age 72, of Pickerington, passed away March 4th at his home after a long battle with prostate cancer. He was born on February 28, 1950, in Columbus, Ohio. Jeff attended Marion Franklin High School and was a United States Marine Corps Reserve veteran. He was a well-known artist. Jeff worked at Columbus Sign Company for a long time, sharing his talents with the city. His hobby was his work. He loved being busy creating art with his hands. He was a working man who took great pride in everything he did. Jeff was an optimistic, happy man who never complained. He always said, “I’m great”, no matter the circumstance. He enjoyed boating, watching the Ohio State Buckeyes’ football games with his family, and working in his garage, creating woodworking, metal, and neon projects. God gave him the talent to do and create so much. His love and passion for his wife were paramount. He was a phenomenal man who had a sweet spirit about him. He was the most loving and encouraging husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Jeff never met a stranger and was always referring to people as “Buddy”. He had such courage and swag- a big-time Motown lover and a smooth dancer. He will be missed immensely. Jeff was preceded in death by his father Glen Wisecarver, his mother Betty (Bill) VanHorn, brothers Robbie Wisecarver and Jan Wisecarver Sr., brother-in-law Fred Weingand, son Nick Wisecarver, and granddaughter Aubriana Wisecarver. Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Lila Karen Lockhart; children, Natalie Wisecarver, Kristina (Justin) Miller, and Erik (Kayla) Lockhart; grandchildren, Natalya Henry, Zayden Rucker, Dillon and Alex Richard, Preston Miller, Ashleigh, Andrew, Aiden, and Anson Lockhart; siblings, Diana Weingand, Cheryl (Douglas) Thomas; Toni (Garry) Stephenson; sisters-in-law, Jennifer (Jan) Wisecarver, Renee Weaver, Debbie Johnson, Debbie (Joe) Wingard; brother-in-law, Mark Johnson; many nieces, nephews, and good friends. A celebration of life will take place at a later date with close friends and family. Those who wish may donate to Mount Carmel Hospice, 1144 Dublin Rd., Columbus, Ohio 43215, in Jeff’s memory.
