Charles H. Barret Jr. Oneida/Brookfield-Charles H. Barrett Jr., 45. passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at the Oneida Healthcare Center, shortly following admission due to an apparent cardiac condition. He was born on October 1, 1976 in North Adams, MA, the son of Charles H. Barrett Sr. and the late Catherine Lewis Barrett. At a young age, Charlie was raised in Massachusetts and Georgia. He attended high school in Adams, MA. He worked all of his adult life in the landscaping business. He moved back to upstate New York in 2014. He settled in Brookfield and had worked for Wendt Enterprises. The last several years he has been employed as a ground’s keeper at the Seven Oaks Golf Club, at Colgate University. In 2016, Charlie met the love of his life, Jennifer Lynn Maggio; and together, Charlie, Jennifer, and Jennifer’s son, Noah, shared countless adventures together. They had a passion for the outdoors, and spent many weekends kayaking and camping. They were always ready to enjoy a bonfire with family and friends. Jennifer passed away on October 9, 2020 as a result of an automobile accident. Charlie is survived by his father, Charles H. Barrett Sr; his siblings: Tina, Terry. Donna, and Jeremy. He is survived by several aunts, uncles. nieces, nephews, and close friends. Charlie also leaves behind a very special person, who felt was his own son, Noah Maggio. He was predeceased by his mother Catherine, his step-mother, Hazel, his beloved Jennifer. At this time there are no local services planned for Charlie. His interment will take place in the Belleview Cemetery, Adams, MA. Charlie’s family have entrusted their care to Jeffrey T. Paul, Director, of the Paul Funeral Home of Madison.
