Betty Stahl Park, 93, of Trenton, KY, passed away at her home on March 3, 2022, surrounded by her family.
Betty was born on December 28, 1928 to Chester and Mary Frances Stahl and was a lifelong resident of Todd County. She was a graduate of Austin Peay State University with a bachelor’s degree in Library Science and a master’s degree in Elementary Education. She taught at Pembroke Elementary School for 28 years where she enjoyed molding the minds of children and encouraging them to set high goals and become the best versions of themselves. Betty retired in 1998 and she was the happiest when spending time with her family and taking care of her large yard where she had planted over 500 trees and plants throughout her life.
Betty married William O. Park in 1947 and went on to have four children, Joseph William (Rosemary) Park, Mary Katherine (Hugh) Lewis, Sandra Marie (Joel) Norton, and Patricia Ann (Jerry) Wieck.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Park, parents, and siblings: Chester Jr., Gerry, Ben, and John. She’s survived by her four children, thirteen grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
A prayer service will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church at 7600 Russellville Rd., Guthrie, KY at 3:30 pm on Thursday, March 10th, followed by visitation until 8:00 pm. A funeral Mass will be held at the same location at 10:00 am on Friday, March 11th.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the International Rett Syndrome Foundation or to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Guthrie, KY.
