Esperanza Hope Staley, 84, of McConnelsville, passed away on Mon. Feb. 28, 2022 at the Highland Oaks Nursing Home in McConnelsville surrounded by her family. She was born on Feb. 6, 1938 in Sacremento, Cal. to the late Jose and Jenne Pantoja Delgado. She worked on the family farm and was an avid artist. She was a member and the past president of the Howard Chandler Christy Art Guild. She is survived by her daughter, Theresa (Brian) Massey of McConnelsville, a sister, Socorro (Felix) Luna of Chandler, Az, a sister-in-law, Rita Delgado of Sacramento, 4 grandchildren, Devan (Courtney) Vaughn and Peyton (Austin Lang) Vaughn, Danielle (Keith) Stillman and Dominique (Blake) Schultz and 3 great grandchildren, Jaxton, Sydney and Riley. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, John Staley and a brother, Joseph Delgado. A graveside service will be held on Sat. March 5, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at the Meigsville Cemetery on county road 11. Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville is handling the arrangements.
