Paul M Almeida, 73 of Acushnet, passed away on February 27, 2022 at Brandon Woods of New Bedford after a long illness. Born in Vilarinho das Paranheiras he was the son of the late Jose M Almeida and Adelaide (Calvao) Almeida and husband of Christine (Sullivan) Almeida. He worked many different jobs in his life most notably as a furnace operator and quality control manager at Rodney Metals. Paul was a passionate S.L. Benefica fan and avid Boston sports fan. He loved fishing and was said to fish in a puddle if he knew there were fish there. Paul enjoyed spending quality time with family and adored his grandchildren more than anything. He is survived by his wife, his sons Paul (PJ) Almeida and wife Paula, whom Paul considered his own daughter, Michael Almeida, Sean Almeida; grandchildren, Kayla, Haley, Emma, Caitlin, Brady, Jacoby; brothers, Joao Almeida and wife Cisela, Joaquim Almeida and wife Debbie, Manuel Almeida and wife Maria, Robert Almeida; sisters, Maria Carballo and husband Jose, Dusty DaSilva and husband Antonio, Dores Capela and husband Tony; sister-in-law, Nazare Almeida and many nieces and nephews. Paul is preceded in death by his brothers, Sebastiao Almeida, Jose Manuel Almeida, Antonio Almeida. Paul's Funeral Mass will be held, Friday, March 4, 2022 at 10:30am at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception. Cremation will follow. Visitation will be prior to the Funeral Mass from 8-10am at the Boulevard Funeral Home.
