Bernard L. Barrett Jr., “Bucky” 78, of Clinton Corners, died February 20, 2022 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He was born on July 30, 1943 in Poughkeepsie. The son of Bernard Barrett and Thelma (Bloomer) Elmendorf.
Bucky was a farmer for Quattro’s Farm in Pleasant Valley for many years until his retirement. Staying busy was enjoyable for him and he enjoyed fixing anything broken. A caring person who would help anyone in need including a complete stranger. An avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and farming. He will also be remembered for his gift of laughter and his ability to make anyone smile.
Bernard is survived by his eight children, Michael Barrett, Sheri Barrett, Molly McIntosh, Jayson Barrett, Keri Dillinger, Curtis Britton, Chris Britton, and Fawn Shaffer. Many grandchildren. His sisters Bernice Barnett and Diane Decker. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents Bernie was also predeceased by his son, Bernard L. Barrett III, his sisters, Joan Ogden, Mary Leclaire, Virginia Corcoran, Nancy Barrett and his step father, Myron Elmendorf.
Visiting time for family and friends will be held on Monday, February 28, 2022 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Peck & Peck Funeral Homes, 7749 S. Main Street, Pine Plains. Followed by a graveside service at the Schultzville Union Cemetery, 1192 Centre Rd, Rhinebeck, New York.
