Marie K. Caron, 86, of Manchester, CT, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 28, 2021. Marie was born on April 27, 1934 in Marrakesh, French Morocco, daughter of the late Shalom and Zohra (Weismen) BenKalifa.
Having been raised in Morocco, the daughter of a Rabbi, she moved to Connecticut in 1963 and made life here with her late husband Leroy.
An avid gardner Marie loved flowers and was considered a great cook by her family, whom all loved her spaghetti & meatballs and her fried rice. She was the caterer for all family gatherings. Marie also loved to shop, especially at Macy’s. She loved getting her nails and hair done, too. She loved Elvis Presley! But most of all, she loved her children and grandchildren. Marie made daily calls to her family in Israel.
Marie leaves behind her beloved son Lee Caron and his wife Cathy of Scottland, CT; daughter Marilyn Whitehouse of Storrs, CT; daughter Deborah M. Russell and her husband Richard of Coventry, CT; son Richard Caron and his wife Susan of California; good friend John Lodyko of Manchester, CT; brother Armand BenKalifa and his wife Alice, sisters Susan Twizer, Alice Amsellam, Bloria Zrihan and her husband Michelle all from Israel; her ten grandchildren, Sarah Bump, Richard Russell Jr., David Whitehouse, Michelle Caron, Jessica Schuster, Jeremiah Caron, Alexis Caron, Elijah Caron, Beth Shultz and Paul Shultz as well as many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Friday January 29, 2021 at 1:00pm at Beth Sholom Memorial Park on Autumn Street in Manchester, CT. All are invited to view the livestream service and sign the online guestbook at https://www.blumensteinfunerals.com/obituary/Marie-Caron
