Maple Lee Coston’s Season

July 28, 1935 - February 14, 2022

Maple Lee Murray-Coston was born July 28,1935 to the late Eddie Mae Bryant and Louis Murray in Augusta, Georgia.  Maple transitioned from this life to be with the Lord on February 14, 2022.  February 14 is a very special day as it is Valentine’s Day to most, but it was even more special to Maple as it was her only son’s, Carl Coston, Sr., birthday.

Maple was educated in Augusta County system until she had to stay home and help her mother, Eddie Mae, take care of her five brothers.  Maple married her late husband, James Coston, at the tender age of 15 and they later moved to Rochester, New York.  Once her mother took ill, Maple moved to Florida to be closer to her.  Maple worked in the hospitality industry for 20 years until she retired in the late 1990’s.

Maple was very family oriented; she loved her family more than life itself.  She enjoyed cooking, knitting, and spending time with her family and friends.  There was never a time you could to Maple for anything and she wouldn’t give it to you.  Rather the need was for a hot meal, a roof over your head, or the shirt off her back, she would give it to you, no matter what.    Maple was a very spiritual woman; she loved the Lord.  She was a loving mother of four beautiful children.  Watching westerns and cowboy shows was her favorite past time, and if you visited her when they were on, you would have sat and watch them with her.

Maple was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Coston and Carl Coston, Jr.

She leaves to mourn her passing, but cherish her memories her loving daughters: Detira Coston and Carol Coston both of Bradenton, FL.; nine grandchildren: JaQueda Mathis-Peacock (Darvin), Marckelle Sullivan, Arsenio Coston, Teira Fields, Ceira Fields-McDuffie (Thomas), Rory Houston, Carl Coston, Jr., Ephriam Coston, and Rickenna Gissendanner; 12 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and friends
