Shirley Ann Cisler, age 86, passed away on February 22, 2022. Shirley was born on February 21, 1936 in Wyoming, Michigan the daughter of Alvin and Vivian (Pease) Barnaby. Shirley was the head of housekeeping at the Grand Valley Nursing Home. She also worked in a variety of different childcare roles for many years. Shirley was a very active member of Gaines United Brethren Church where she helped with various children’s ministries. Shirley loved to travel with her friends and family all over the United States. In her younger years, Shirley enjoyed roller skating and participated in many competitions. Most important to Shirley was her family, whom she loved and cared for deeply. Shirley is survived by her husband of 37 years, Russell Cisler; children: Dan Martin, David (Lori) Martin, Doug Martin, Laura Lafonesse; step children: Charles Cisler, Michael (Melinda) Cisler, Katherine (Robert) Bursley; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings: Dorothy Martin, Horace “Tom” (Barb) Barnaby, Joan (Norm) Buer, Ruth (Butch) Voorhees, Diane Playter; brothers in law: Archie Hennessey, Ken (Blanche) Cisler, Ron Duryea; sisters in law: Mary Lou Cisler, Lavina (Arnie) Stahl; several nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jerry Barnaby; sister, Patty Duryea; daughter in law, Cindy Martin; and brother in law, Bob Cisler. Shirley’s family will receive friends on Friday, February 25, 2022, 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Beeler-Gores Funeral Home and on Saturday, February, 26, 2022, 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Gaines United Brethren Church where her funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM. Private burial will take place in Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorial contributions to Gaines United Brethren Church or Interim Hospice will be appreciated.
