Hubert Langdon - Celebration of Life

It is with great sadness that the family of Hubert Langdon announces his peaceful passing on Saturday, February 19, 2022 in Harbour Breton at the age of 75. Hubert was born in Grole, Hermitage Bay, but moved to Boxey, at the age of 17, where he began his teaching career and principalship. Soon after, he moved to English Hr. West where he lived the rest of his life, raising his family with his loving wife, Joyce.

Hubert was predeceased by his parents, Job and Elizabeth Langdon; mother and father in law, Frank and Martha Fiander; brother, John Robert; sister, Sarah Elizabeth. He leaves to mourn his loving family with a lifetime of love and precious memories: his loving wife of 54 years, Joyce; son, Derek (Daphne) at St. John’s; daughters, Krista (Derrick) at English Hr. West and Huberta (Troy) at Mount Pearl; his pride and joy, granddaughters, Emily and Sarah; grand pets, Daisy, Casper, and Quigley; sister, Mary Grace Bungay at Burgeo; as well as the extended Langdon and Fiander family, nieces, nephews, cousins and a large circle of other relatives and special friend, Max Taylor.

He was an educator and principal for 30 years, Anglican Lay Minister, Mayor, as well as being an active member on numerous types of committees, including those supporting education, health care and small businesses. His passion for advocating for seniors in the Coast of Bays region, healthcare and various cancer charities will be a part of the memories and legacy he leaves behind. Hubert also loved being outside and in his yard in the spring and summer months, tending to his flowers and vegetable garden.

Visitation took place on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at St. Thomas Anglican Church at English Harbour West from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 7:00 pm to 9:00pm. COVID 19 regulations were followed.
