Margaret Triplett Obituary

Viola Margaret Triplett

June 9, 1928 – February 11, 2022

Margaret Triplett passed away at her home in North Bend, Oregon at the age of 93 years. Margaret was born and raised in Vernon, British Columbia, Canada. Oldest daughter of Edith and Nathan Johnson, she graduated from high school and worked at the Hudson Bay in Vernon before moving to Seattle, WA to attend Seattle University. She graduated with a lab technician certificate.

Margaret met the love of her life, Floyd Triplett, in Seattle; they married and moved to Milton-Freewater, Oregon to begin their pharmacy business and become advocates for their community. Margaret was active in Camp Fire Girls as a Leader, as a lab technician for Red Cross blood drives, in her Bridge Club, at their St. James Episcopal Church, Soroptimists, Elks Club, Watercolor Painting classes, among many others. She and Floyd enjoyed playing golf, traveling in their motor home, hunting for morel mushrooms and huckleberries in the Blue Mountains, and gardening. Margaret won first place in a local golf tournament; she won many ribbons at local art shows for her watercolor paintings; she and Floyd were awarded with Yard of the Month in August 1998!

Margaret is survived by her children, Patt Bailey and Bob Triplett; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law Bob Triplett and Dennis Triplett; her youngest sister, Alice Smith; and many nieces and nephews.

Margaret lived her last years on the Oregon Coast near Patt and Bob. She enjoyed getting to spend so much time with her family close by. She will be deeply missed.

Her family will gather this summer for a celebration of life to honor Margaret’s beautiful and feisty spirit.
