Obituary

Bingham, Robert Jordan (Nov 1, 1933—Feb 15, 2022)

Robert (Bob) Bingham entered into the loving arms of Jesus on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at the age of 88. He was preceded in death in 1989, by Dorothy McConnell Bingham who was the beloved mother of his three daughters and devoted wife of 28 years.  Bob’s desire was to be pleasing to the Lord Jesus Christ and he was faithful until his last breath.

His mission to serve Jesus was carried on with his faithful wife also of 28 years Dottie Connor Bingham. She not only instilled strength into his daily life as they ministered together through their joint ministries CUPbearers, Shepherding Grace, and Gracestoration, but also blessed him through the extension of her family and friends.

Bob was born in Beloit, Wisconsin to his loving parents Edward Harold Bingham and Harriet Jordan Bingham. Two years later his only brother Edward was born. The family moved many times and eventually settled in Colorado. Bob graduated from Arvada High School and attended the University of Colorado in Boulder. He joined the Army in 1954 and served in Korea for 2 years.  While working at Camp Id-Ra-Ha-Je he met Dorothy McConnell and the two were married in 1960. Bob graduated from Rockmont Bible College (now Colorado Christian University).

Bob was a devoted father to Deanna Finley (Jim), Denise Perkins (Kirk), Deedra Jerome (Joshua), and step-father to Lori Burke (Vince), Sheri Connor Hudson (Bill), John Connor (Rose), and Patti Bogner (Mark). He was proud to be the grandfather to Laura Finley, Sarah Foster (Chance), Becca Fanslau (Drake), Bobbiejo Mageland (Shane), and step-grandfather to Michael Perkins, Bryant Jerome, Brycen (Stephanie) Jerome, Jordan Jerome, Jessie Jerome, Kelly (Mario) Crobu,  Vince (Lauren) Burke, Tami Burke, Julie Burke, Tara (Brad) Blue, Joshua (Elle) Robery,  Shara (Mark) Barth, John Connor, Bobby (Mireille) Connor, Katie (Alfredo) Silva, Shannon Connor, Bethany Connor, Mark Bogner, Charissa (Caleb) Schallenmuller, Matt (Ella) Bogner, Connor Bogner, Jacki Bogner, and 14 beautiful great-grandchildren. Bob is survived by his devoted brother Edward Harold Bingham (Jeanette) of Huntsville, Utah and beloved foster daughter Cathy Hayes.

Bob’s heart desire was to be pleasing to Jesus and point others to Him as the source of their very life. His ministry began in 1957 with the American Sunday School Union (now In Faith) as he spread the word of Jesus throughout the mountains in Colorado. In 1962, he and his family joined Overseas Christian Servicemen's Center (now Cadence International) in the Philippines as they ministered to military personnel for 22 years. Over the last forty years, he served as the pastor at Rocky Mountain Evangelical Free Church in Blackhawk, Colorado. He impacted countless individuals' journeys to Jesus during his time here on earth through his ministry, CUPbearers, since 1984. Included in his ministry, he held seminars, retreats, and conferences in China, Singapore, Nepal, Hong Kong, Cambodia, the Philippines and other countries. Bob was a loving friend, a trusted mentor, a prayer warrior, a lending hand to the needy, and the shepherd to his earthly family among many others; many children loved him too. Bob’s mission to share Jesus’ life and love is his legacy. Bob would often say, “We can trust Him (Jesus), because He is trustworthy”.
