Lucia Ruiz Obituary

LUCIA RUIZ, 93 years of age of Liberty Hill, Texas, passed away on February 7, 2022. She was born July 6, 1928 to parents Agustin Lopez and Susana Lopez. She went to live with the Lord peacefully, with her daughter Dora and her son-in-law Victor by her side.

She was born in Villa Ahumada, Chihuahua Mexico, and lived there until she met Beningo, the love of her life. They moved to Juarez, Chihuahua and then to New Mexico where they lived most of their lives. When they were in their seventies they moved to Texas where they lived with their youngest daughter Luly for five years. Lucia and Benigno were happily married for 70 years.

Lucia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a homemaker and a very meticulous woman. She was a great cook and made the best homemade flower tortillas you could ever want.

Lucia’s husband was visually impaired for the last ten years of his life, so she became his "eyes". She loved him so much and was always by his side. Lucia was very vigilant of the food and medicines that were given to him by Dora and the caregivers until he passed away on June 30, 2020. She had many caregivers, but only four great caregivers, Rosa, Celeste, Sylvia and Ruth; they cared for her and also loved her. Her daughters Maria and Luly would alternate weekends to care for her. Maria, her oldest daughter, took care of her a week and sometimes two weeks at a time when needed.

Lucia had a sweet caring personality. When nurses, physical therapists, friends and family members visited her she would always pray for them before they left the house.

Lucia is survived by her brother Juan, sister Soledad, daughters Maria (Benito), Dora (Victor) Luly (Hector).

Grandchildren, Leticia (Edward), Claudia (Anthony), Lizette (Peter), Angel (Amber), Adrian, Diandra (Chris) and Lorenzo.

Great-grandchildren, Ariel, Samuel, Trinitie, Destinee, Lilyanna, Lorallye, Daniella, Estella, Elloise, Jaden, Jaxon, Jewel, Penelope, Leilah and Josiah.

Lucia is preceded in death by her husband Benigno, mother Susana, father Agustin, daughter Berta Alicia, son Horacio, sisters Socorro and Lucina, brothers Antonio, Manuel, Luis, and Agustin.

Two weeks before her passing, Lucia accepted Jesus Christ as her savior. We can rejoice knowing she is in heaven, dancing, and worshiping the Lord. She will forever be missed. “We Love You Mom”.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”

2 Timothy 4:7-8

DINNER FOR THE FAMILY WILL BE AT LUCIA’S FAVORITE RESTAURANT “CASA GARCIA” AT 4:30PM IN ROUND ROCK, TX.
