Robert Earl Zarrella Obituary

Robert “Bob” Earl Zarrella, age 86, of Warwick, Rhode Island, lost his battle with dementia and passed away peacefully on February 5, 2022.

Bob was born to the late Mary Rezza and Amletto Zarrella on September 6, 1935 in Providence. Married to the late Norma Zarrella, he is survived by his five children Ronilyn (Doug) Lincoln, Laurie Zarrella, Joe (Deanna) Higgins, Kim (Frank) Liston, and Bobby Higgins, his seven grandchildren, Seth, Miles, Josie, Jeff, Amanda, Kayla and Colin, 10 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, and his sister Dorothy Cafferty and family.

Also known as Zeke, Bob was a business and property owner, and served in the Army National Guard as well. He loved The Lord and was an avid member and volunteer at Warwick Central Baptist Church throughout his life, and attended Cornerstone Church in his later years. Bob was a talented carpenter, electrician, and plumber, and built a beautiful home on the water in Cedar Tree Point with help from his late father-in-law Bon West and other family members. He retired at age 50 to spend time with family.

Bob was a devoted husband, a wonderful dad, and an adoring “Pop” to his many grandchildren.  They will always remember him joyfully singing and telling stories. He spent most of his summers boating, fishing, and golfing, and he and Norma traveled together often. He loved his family and friends deeply and was cherished by each of them.

Bob left an unforgettable mark on all who had the privilege to know him, and left this world a better place. He will be deeply missed, but we are comforted to know that he is now united with his greatest love.

An intimate family service will be held in June where together, Bob and Norma’s ashes will be laid to rest at sea. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Alzheimer’s Association on his behalf.
