Janemarie Jackson Meade affectionately known as “Joan", age 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at Markley Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center formerly known as Regina Nursing Home in Norristown. She was the daughter of the late Helen May Brown-Clark and the late William Warren, born on Monday July 4,1932 in Norristown, PA. Joan was a faithful member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness on Haws Avenue in Norristown. She was a graduate of A.D. Eisenhower High School in Norristown. Joan was employed by the Norristown School District for 34 years, retiring in 2006. Poetry was one of Joan’s many talents, she was gifted with the ability to arrange words that rhymed and fit any situation or story. An avid fan of most sports, she collected memorabilia from professional players and her favorite teams, some personally autographed. The Watchtower and The Times Herald were among her regular sources of inspiration. If it was a historical Norristown event you were interested in, she usually had a photograph or news clipping to match it. Over the years, Joan had befriended many of Norristown’s Police Officers and Firemen, including “Nero” a K-9 Police dog. It was not unusual to find them checking in on her or a friendly visit. Joan leaves to cherish her memories one son, Wayne Butler; four daughters, Valerie Johnson (James), Bonnie Shipley, Cherie’ Goss (Gary), and Renee’ Meade; one sister, Elizabeth Wilson; one nephew, John Wilson Jr.; 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great- grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends. In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her daughter, Tinamarie; 3 brothers, Ernest Leroy Jackson, William Boyer, and Lewis Wayne Jackson; and a grandson, Jason Greene. The family wishes to extend our sincere gratitude to the staff at Markey Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center and Serenity Hospice Care for the kind and attentive way they cared for Janemarie Meade.
