Jackie Ivory Skaggs Obituary

Jackie Ivory Millard Skaggs, 69, of Salt Lick, Kentucky passed away Saturday, February 5, 2022 at the VA Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.

He was born in Columbus, Ohio on May 9, 1952 to the late Lonnie Skaggs and Wanda Rigsby Skaggs. 

Jackie was an enthusiastic friendly person who never met a stranger. He was a United States Army veteran and later retired after many years as a welder and truck driver. Jackie enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching television and most of all he loved spending time with his grandbabies. 

In addition to his parents he was preceded death by three sisters; Brenda Skaggs, Linda Schultz and Phylis Gilley. 

Survivors include his wife, Connie Miller Skaggs, one daughter, America Carroll (Josh) of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky and two sons; Morgan Spencer (Santana) and Travis Spencer (Alesha) both of Salt Lick, five brothers; Robert Skaggs (Kathy) of Jeffersonville, Kentucky, Jimmy Skaggs of Owingsville, Charles Skaggs of Mt. Sterling, George Skaggs of Bethel, Kentucky and Russell Skaggs (Donna) of Salt Lick, two sisters; Patty Johnson of Owingsville and Debbie Driver of Huntsville, Alabama,  known as Pappy to Maggie Smith (Austin Mosley) of Lexington and Payton Carroll of Mt. Sterling and known as Papaw to Credence Randolph, Melissa Carmack, Liam Spencer, Aubrey Spencer, Addy Spencer, Millie Spencer, Ember Riddle and Makenzie Spencer all of Salt Lick and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Thursday, February 10, 2022 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Pastor Joey Rogers officiating.

Burial will follow at the Longview Cemetery in Bethel.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville will be 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Wednesday. 

Pallbearers include; Tony Parker, Josh Carroll, Payton Carroll, Robbie Skaggs, Travis Spencer and Morgan Spencer. 

Honorary Pallbearers include, Vinson Howard, Aaron Howard, James Skaggs, Taylor Skaggs, Chris Skaggs, Jeremy Johnson and Lonnie Donathon. 

The Michael R. Gray Funeral Home Owingsville is caring for all the arrangements for Jackie Skaggs.
