<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Edith Mary (Roberts) Bell, 88, of Aberdeen, SD and formerly of Redfield, SD, passed away Thursday, February 3, 2022, at her home.&nbsp; Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 7, at Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield.&nbsp;</span></strong></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Her funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 8, at Messiah Lutheran Church in Redfield with Reverend Kevin D. Moore officiating.&nbsp; Refreshments and fellowship will immediately follow the funeral at the church.&nbsp; A private, family interment will take place at a later date at Greenlawn Cemetery in Redfield.&nbsp;</span></strong></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">The family highly recommends wearing masks for the services.&nbsp; For those unable to attend, her funeral service will be live-streamed to the funeral home&rsquo;s website, under Edith&rsquo;s obituary.&nbsp; Hyke Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.&nbsp; (www.hykefuneralhome.com)</span></strong></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Edith Mary Roberts was born to Cyril C. and Caroline L. (Deltener) Roberts on September 8, 1933, in Frankfort, SD.&nbsp; She attended grade school to the 4th grade at Frankfort and then her family moved to Redfield.&nbsp; She completed her education and graduated in 1951 from Redfield High School.&nbsp;</span></strong></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">She met Harold H. Bell and they were married on October 14, 1957, in Clark, SD at the Lutheran Church in Hague Township.&nbsp; They were blessed with four children: &nbsp;Tamara in 1958, Charles in 1961, Carolyn in 1963, and Diana in 1975. &nbsp;The family moved several times for Harold&rsquo;s work, but they eventually settled in Redfield.&nbsp; Edith enjoyed being at home raising her family while babysitting for others.</span></strong></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">During her school years, she worked at several restaurants.&nbsp; After graduation, she worked at the National Food Store and then at the Northwestern Bell Telephone Company.&nbsp; Once her children were grown, Edith worked as a waitress at the Coffee Shop for Jack and Jean Jankord.&nbsp; She worked there for 14 years.&nbsp; From there, she worked for Dr. W.J. Birkholz as a dental assistant.&nbsp; Edith was taught on the job and worked for him for 21 years, retiring when the office closed.&nbsp;</span></strong></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Edith and Harold were members of Messiah Lutheran Church in Redfield.&nbsp; Edith was also a member of the Altar Guild and taught nursery Sunday School until her own children grew up.&nbsp;</span></strong></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Edith&rsquo;s hobbies included exercising, going to Christian Womens, baking, watching golf, and spending time with grandchildren.&nbsp; &nbsp;She treasured her many friendships throughout her years, most recently at Lakeside Apartments and Primrose Retirement Community.</span></strong></p> <p style="text-align: justify;"><strong><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">Edith is survived by her son Charles H. Bell of Aberdeen; daughter Carolyn M. Bell of Fargo, ND; daughter Diana L. Edith Mary (Roberts) Bell, 88, of Aberdeen, SD and formerly of Redfield, SD, passed away Thursday, February 3, 2022, at her home.  Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 7, at Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield. 

Her funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 8, at Messiah Lutheran Church in Redfield with Reverend Kevin D. Moore officiating.  Refreshments and fellowship will immediately follow the funeral at the church.  A private, family interment will take place at a later date at Greenlawn Cemetery in Redfield.
