Mrs. Ellen D. (Newcomer) Sipes, 65, of Battleridge Road, McConnellsburg, PA passed away late Sunday evening, January 29, 2017 in her home. Born January 5, 1952 in Waynesboro, PA she was the daughter of the late James "Jim" and Mildred (Ingels) Newcomer. She and her husband, Mr. Mitchell S. Sipes, were married September 11, 1980 in Winchester, VA. Mrs. Sipes was employed at the Siding Hill Plaza, on the Turnpike as a waitress until her retirement in 1997. She loved the beach, flowers in the springtime, spending time with her children and grandchildren, going shopping, and cooking large meals for her family. In addition to her husband Mrs. Sipes is survived by three children, James Pennesi and his wife Carla of Walton, WV, Mitchell S. Sipes II and his significant other Amanda Sims of McConnellsburg, and Melissa K. Sipes and her significant other Mark Taylor of McConnellsburg; six grandchildren and one on the way; three step-grandchildren; and one sister, Anne Newcomer of Greencastle, PA. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by two sisters; Julie Fultz and Kathleen Newcomer. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, February 2, 2017 in the Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, PA with the Pastor Rick Egolf officiating. Burial will follow in Antietam Cemetery, Waynesboro.
