<p>Don Bailey passed from this life into the presence of his Heavenly Father on Monday, January 31, 2022.&nbsp; A visitation for Don will be held at Adams-Foster-Ray Funeral Home, Hamlin, Texas, on Tuesday February 1, 2022, at 6:00 P.M.&nbsp; The funeral service will be Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at 10:00 A.M.&nbsp; at the First Methodist Church, Hamlin, Texas.&nbsp;</p> <p>Don was born on August 23, 1939, in Moody, Texas to James Henry and Wilma Moore Bailey.&nbsp; Don married Melba Osbourn in Hamlin, Texas on May 22,1959 where they resided until his death.&nbsp; Don was a farmer and loved raising horses.&nbsp; He took pride that he had two AQHA Horses of the Year.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; He was an avid hunter, loved to ride and go on trail rides with wagons.&nbsp; Don was the founder of Bailey Construction.&nbsp; He could build anything that you wanted.&nbsp; Don loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and took them hunting whenever he could.&nbsp; He was a long-time member of the First Methodist Church where he was very involved and was a past member of the board.&nbsp; He also was a member of the Hamlin Masonic Lodge.</p> <p>Don is proceeded in death by his parents, stepfather James Hewitt and a sister, Elaine Hopkins.</p> <p>Left to celebrate his memory is his spouse and soul mate of 62 years, Melba Bailey; daughter and son in-law, Kay and Brett Hight of Abilene, Texas; son and daughter in-law, Terry and Deana Bailey, Hamlin, Texas. Also, Coy Bailey, who he raised as a son, and his wife Rosie, along with their family.</p> <p>His grandchildren include Bobby Hight, Jerid Hight and wife Kelly.&nbsp; Great Grandchildren include Cooper Don, Tripp and Kyle Ray.&nbsp; Don is also survived by his sisters Dellia Bailey, Jan Hickerson and husband Dwigh,t along with several nieces and nephews.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the West Texas Rehab Center, Abilene, Texas.</p>
