Shirl Dee Eskelson, 82, passed away January 27, 2022. He was born August 19, 1939 in Logan, Cache County, Utah to Lyman Richardson Eskelson and Thelma Shepherd Eskelson.

 

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1956 to 1960. Shirl married Fern Sue Ann Moulding in Ogden, Utah on May 5, 1961.

 

As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints he served in various church callings over the years.

 

He worked for several places but his favorite, we would say, was working as Ranch Foreman on the Jensen Middlefork Ranch. He also worked for Tramcor in his later years and a road construction company until he retired. He enjoyed working on the roads of Yellowstone National Park.

 

He as an avid gardener and loved wood working, hunting and fishing.

 

Shirl is survived by his daughter Lucinda Lynn Eskelson Jensen and son Patrick Lyman Eskelson; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and brother Van R. Eskelson.

 

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Sue Ann; his parents and sister Lorna Jean Eskelson Taylor-Rose.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden, where a viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 2nd from 6 to 8 p.m.  and prior to the service from 9:45 to 10;45 a.m. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
