Velma Louise Luellen Obituary

Velma Louise Luellen of Moore, Oklahoma, passed away on January 27, 2022, at the age of 89. She was born in Bearden, Oklahoma, to Joe Dodson and Elsie Mae Kellogg (Morphis) on November 16, 1932.

Velma was a kind, caring, and nurturing woman with a generous heart who enjoyed being a Homemaker for her family. She was a wonderful wife and mother, full of love for her family. She was lucky to have been married to the love of her life, Acey. Velma adored her family, and when her children were growing up, Velma lovingly handmade clothing for her girls.

When Shirley and Jo grew up and left home, Velma took advantage of her natural talent as a seamstress and began working at a sewing factory. Following her time at the factory, Velma began working in the health care industry as a home health care worker. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, and loved to spend time in her yard, tending to her beautiful flowers and her vegetables. Velma’s warm, gentle heart touched the hearts of many during her lifetime, and she will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Acey Luellen, a son-in-law, Charlie Powers, and five brothers, J.B. Dodson, Joe Dodson, Douglas Kellogg, Charles Kellogg, and Benny Kellogg.

Velma is survived by her daughters, Shirley Watson and husband Rod, and Jo Powers; two grandchildren, Nika Hoehn, and Dusty Powers and his wife, Jamie; five great-grandchildren, Ricky Luna, S.J. Hoehn, Jason Keen, Ethan Powers, and Kayla Powers; a brother, Ronnie Kellogg and wife Karen, and two sisters, Phyllis Earnest and Linnie Heard and husband Ray; in addition to a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.

Graveside services will begin at 10:00am on Monday, January 31, 2022, at Little Cemetery, located at 11522 OK-99 in Seminole, Oklahoma.
