Services for Cheryl Yvonne Penton, 71, of Vandalia, will be at noon, Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Vandalia First Baptist Church Family Life Center with Pastor Brian Lehenbauer officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the church. Interment will take place in the Vandalia Cemetery at a later date. Services are under the direction of Bienhoff Funeral Home. Mrs. Penton passed away at 1:37 P.M., Thursday, January 27, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on October 31, 1950, in Marceline, the daughter of Harold and Donys Dowell Bartholomew. Cheryl married Norman Penton on March 21, 1975, in Huntsville and he survives. Other survivors include one son; Jerry Penton of New London, two daughters; Candace (Tony) Lower of Vandalia and Alisha (Dean) Jensen of Thornton, CO, three brothers; Dick, Lonnie, and Roger Bartholomew, four sisters; Cathryn Penrod, Janice Boss, Linda Perry, and Donna Enyeart, nine grandchildren; Brayden Garbulski, Alexis Garbulski, Travis (Stephanie) Allen, Trevor Lower, Trenton Lower, Kelsie Jo (Anthony) Barron, Olivia Penton, Trinity Penton, and Jacoby Penton, and one great grandchild; Chase Allen. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers; Randy and Ronnie Bartholomew. Mrs. Penton was a member of the Vandalia First Baptist Church who enjoyed spending weekends with her husband at Thomas Hill Lake boating and camping. Cheryl loved spending time with family and friends. Pallbearers will be Travis Allen, Brayden Garbulski, Trevor Lower, Trenton Lower, Chris Bartholomew, and Tarryn Perry.
