William "Bill" E. Bonney

<p>Westernport, MD</p> <p>William &ldquo;Bill&rdquo; Ellsworth Bonney, born September 23,1946 in Luke, Maryland. He went to be with the lord on January 26, 2022 at Potomac Valley Hospital.<br /> <br /> He was the biological son of the late Leona Miller and the late Lacey Tinsley. He was raised by his late grandparents, James Bonney and Betty Bonney that he called his mom and dad. He is preceded in death by two brothers David Jones and Paul Broadwater; and a nephew Bradley Jones.<br /> <br /> Bill attended Bruce High School, where he played football for the Bruce Bulldogs. He Graduated from Edinburg Indiana. He was recently employed at the Westernport Senior Center, and previously employees with the Masteller Coal Company in the 80&#39;s. Bill was a former Town of Luke employee, Town of Luke commissioner and Luke Fireman. Bill retired as a Allegany County bus driver.<br /> <br /> Bill was a wonderful out going person who loved anyone he met. Bill attended Piedmont church of God where he was a board member. Bill loved his Redskins, he was a big sports fan. He played semi-pro football with the Allegany County Cougars. He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.<br /> <br /> Surviving is his son, Shawn Bonney and wife Brandy of Westernport; daughter, Tina Cummings of Westernport; nine grandchildren, Dylan, Tyler, Noah, Sierra, Aiden, Courtney, McKenna, Cora and Gavin. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Richard Broadwater of Flordia, Jimmy Broadwater and wife Debbie of Monaca PA, Betty Foster and husband Ronald of Keyser, WV, Gary Tinsley of Oakland, Jeff Tinsley of Westernport and Beverly Grove and husband Ronald of Westernport. Bill is survived by many nieces, nephews and two very special friends, Jan McGreevy and John Wiltison.<br /> <br /> Family and friends will be received at the Boal Funeral Home, Westernport on Tuesday, February 1st from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 2nd at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Charles Henry officiating.<br /> <br /> Interment will be at Philos Cemetery, Westernport with immediate family and close friends.&nbsp;</p>
