Vera Miller, 86, Mansfield, passed away on Friday, January 28th, 2022 at Aberdeen Health and Rehab. 

Vera's wishes were to have no formal funeral services. There will be a private family gathering to celebrate her life with burial at Scatterwood Lake Cemetery at a later date.

Vera was born on November 10th, 1935 in Wishek, ND to Albert and Emma (Schilling) Kaseman. She was raised on the family farm near Wishek and graduated from Wishek High School. After high school she attended the Aberdeen School of Commerce.

She married Robert Miller on April 2nd, 1961 in Aberdeen, SD. They made their home on a farm at Scatterwood Lake. Together, they farmed until retirement. After Bob's death Vera continued to live on the farm until she was no longer able.

Vera spent many hours tending to her garden and flowers which provided satisfaction and comfort.  Her kitchen was always open for whomever stopped by at mealtime whether it was hunters, fisherman, farm helpers or family. Nobody ever left hungry. The light of her life was definitely her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed going to all of their events and activities. The grandchildren never left grandma's house without chocolate chip cookies and treat bags for the trip home and a "Now you come back again".

Vera is survived by her 3 children and 6 grandchildren: Sue (Jon) Watson, David (Anna) Watson, Sarah Watson; Doug Miller, Ashley (Tyler Patterson) Miller, Emily Miller; Deb (Mike) Bickel, Jason (Chelsie) Bickel, Brittany (Evan) Halvorson: 6 great grandchildren and 4 sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 2 brothers.
