It is with profound sadness that the family of Henry Trumier announces his passing on January25th, 2022, at the age of 58. He is survived by his wife Lee-Anne and his son Alex. He will alsobe lovingly remembered by:

He was predeceased by his son Eric, his father Armand, his in-laws Ralph and Jeanne Gaudet, and his nephew Chad Kuhn.

Henry was born November 24, 1963 to Armand and Beatrice Trumier, and grew up on the family farm alongside his older sister, Marilyn. He knew from an early age that he wanted to be a farmer. He followed his dad into the field, sitting in the tractor learning everything he needed to know to reach his dream. He often told stories of his early days of farming, alongside his uncles, Robert and Raymond, and his cousins, Denis, Marcel, and Martin. Later on, his younger cousin Kevin was finally able to join the farming crew.

After graduation from high school in 1981, he farmed full time with his dad. He spent his winters playing hockey and we would often hear him talk about his “Domremy Devils” days. He married Lee-Anne in 1988, and he continued farming his own land. They began their married life, living in his boyhood home. The family grew when Eric was born in 1992, and later Alex completed the family in 2003. As the two boys grew, Henry became involved in coaching and followed them to the rink every winter. As a family, they were able to enjoy travelling taking trips to Phoenix, Las Vegas, and Vancouver. In 2017, after many years of farming, he decided to retire and rent out his land. In the fall of 2020, the opportunity to move to Saskatoon occurred, as was always their retirement plan. Sadly, because of Henry’s declining health, they were unable to fully enjoy their life in their new home. Henry was a quiet man with a great sense of humour. He will be greatly missed.

The family would like to thank Dr. Kriel, Dr. Koppel, and Dr. Halpin for their outstanding care and support over the years. They would also like to thank: the pharmacists at Save on Foods Brighton for their compassion through this trying time; the Saskatoon Palliative Care services, whose presence at the end alleviated stress and helped the family to make difficult decisions; the paramedics for their patience and kindness in transporting Henry to the hospital; and St. Paul’s Hospital Emergency department staff, whose care for Henry was exceptional. These people dealt with an extremely busy ward, yet still ensured that Henry and his family were treated with kindness, compassion, and respect.

A private gathering and interment will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Henry Trumier to the Chronic Kidney Disease Clinic,
