Maria L. Hellweg, 35, of Fort Madison, IA, passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at 4:10 PM at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. She was born on January 4, 1987 in Ft. Madison to Terry Strah and Linda Bohnenkamp. On June 5, 2010 she married Cody Hellweg in the Lake of the Ozarks. Maria was a homemaker and loved every moment of caring and spending time with her family. She enjoyed camping, cooking and making crafts, especially tie blankets and doing anything with her kids. Survivors include her husband, Cody Hellweg of Ft. Madison; her children, Cadence, Alexis, Kylie and Cash Hellweg all at home; her father, Terry (Beverly) Strah of New London; her mother, Linda Bohnenkamp of Ft Madison; two brothers, Tyler Strah of New London and Ryan Strah of Burlington; several aunts, uncles and cousins including James, Joshua and Jody Bohnenkamp whom she considered brothers. She was preceded in death by her Maternal and Paternal grandparents. Friends may call after 2 PM on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory where the family will meet with friends from 4-6:30 PM. A rosary will be recited at 3:30 PM prior to the family visitation. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at 11 AM at King-Lynk Funeral Home & Crematory with Rev.
