Marga Shaffer

<p>Marga Shaffer, 75, of Worthville, died Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Punxsutawney Hospital following an illness.</p> <p>Born on October 23, 1946 in Brookville, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Marjorie Mitchell Kroh.</p> <p>She was a 1964 graduate of Brookville High School and was of the Methodist faith.</p> <p>On April 17, 1965 in Coolspring, she married Richard L. Shaffer. He survives.</p> <p>Prior to her retirement she had worked numerous jobs throughout the years. For a time she had been employed with Sheetz as manager at &nbsp;both the Brookville and Punxsutawney stores, as well as at the Jefferson County Public Defender&rsquo;s Office.</p> <p>Always active, she was a member of &ldquo;Silver Sneakers&rdquo; and was the secretary for Oliver Township Fire Department.</p> <p>She enjoyed reading, cooking, traveling and going for car rides. But what brought her the most joy was spending time with her family, especially time spent with her grandchildren.</p> <p>Her survivors include her husband Richard; her son, Thomas (Kelly Lynn) Shaffer; her daughter, Mollie (Matthew) Caun; her brother, Paul Kroh; her sister, Jennie (Clifford) Reinard; her step- sister, Paula (Ken) McKinney; and her grandchildren, Gage and Ty Shaffer and Benjamin and Luke Caun; as well as numerous extended family members.</p> <p>In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Libby Luther.</p> <p>There will be no public services held. A private family viewing and prayer service will be held Friday, January 28, 2022 at Furlong Funeral Home, 50 Broad St., Summerville, Pa.</p> <p>Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Knoxdale, Jefferson County.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers her family suggests donation be made to either Brookville YMCA or Oliver Township Fire Company.</p> <p>Family and friends may leave online condolences, light a memorial candle, share a memory and obtain addition information by visiting www.furlongfuneralhome.com.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

She was a 1964 graduate of Brookville High School and was of the Methodist faith.
