Mr. Corbitt R. Beasley, age 86, of Cedar Crossing, died Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Meadows Park Health and Rehabilitation in Vidalia after an extended illness.  He was a lifelong resident of Cedar Crossing and a 1955 graduate of Toombs Central School.  He worked with Georgia Pacific for many years, and was a self-employed logger and farmer.  He was President of the Toombs Central Booster Club and Recreation Department, and was well-known as the “cotton candy man”.  He was a member of Cedar Crossing Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Otis Beasley and Jessie Jones Beasley.

His family includes his wife of sixty-three years, Annette C. Beasley; two sons, Doyle Beasley and wife Connie, and Craig Beasley and wife Margie; one grandson, Travis Beasley, all of Cedar Crossing; eight great-grandchildren, Tristan Beasley, Hunter Beasley, Hayden Beasley, Brantley Beasley, Layton Poole, Cadence Oliver, Dalton Kight, and Allyanna Oliver; three sisters, Elizabeth Grace and husband Hugh of Cedar Crossing, Velma Curl and husband Gary of Reidsville, and Helen Owens and husband David of St. Louis, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be Saturday, January 29th, at 11:00 a.m. at the Cedar Crossing Baptist Church with Pastor Reece Mincey officiating.  Burial will follow in the Cedar Crossing Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church on Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
