Erma worked for over 40 years at West Point Pepperell in Opelika, Alabama as a weaver and then worked in a cafeteria at the local elementary school and at Winn Dixie as her health allowed. She spent the majority of her life in Pepperell leaving only briefly before returning each time. She didn’t win but very much enjoyed the trip. She loved to travel going on trips to Nashville, TN, Atlanta GA, New Orleans, LA, Gulf Shores, AL and many other places with family and friends. She also loved watching the Atlanta braves on TBS and spending time with her family, usually over long meals. Her favorite thing to do was watch Airplanes take off and land at the Opelika airport. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Davis; her parents, William and Lula, and 5 brothers Christopher Columbus Young, Paul Danial Young, Sr., Glen Wood Young, Chester Watt Young, and Warner Young and 2 sisters Frances Young (Gilmer), Sadi Ruth Young (Gaylor), Stepson Dan Davis, as well as a grandson Kurt Franklin.
