Emily Newton Jones

<p>Emily Newton Jones was born on July 10, 1945 in Scotland County, daughter of the late Clyde and Edna Newton and wife to the late George Edward Jones. She worked many years with Delaware Technical Community College. Emily was a dedicated homemaker who enjoyed cooking, crafting, and loved her pets. She enjoyed family time, especially times she spent with her grandchildren. Emily was a wonderful, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will truly be missed. She passed away at the age of 76 on January 25, 2022.</p> <p>Emily is survived by her son, Jonathan Jones (Holly) of Holly Springs; brothers, Michael Newton of Laurinburg, David Newton of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Haley Jones and Justin Jones; her special K-9 companions, Belle and Daisy, along with a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.</p> <p>Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 29, 2022 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow in Laurinburg Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be given in Emily&#39;s memory to the ASPCA.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Due to the current COVID-19 status, facial masks with social distancing are required for all services.</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
