Stanley John Campbell Obituary

Stanley John Campbell, 80, passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at the Central Montana Medical Center after an extended illness. He was born in Great Falls, MT on November 14, 1941 to John C. and Helen (Noel) Campbell. Stanley attended school in Utica and finished up in Hobson, graduating in 1959. Stanley entered the Army Reserve and served for six years while living on the ranch. He married Lois Armstrong Clark and her two children became part of his family. Together, Stanley and Lois had three children: Kyle, Brandon, Veronica. Stanley began a janitorial service in Billings and ran that until he and Lois divorced. He then returned to Central Montana and started selling feed for Babe Smith of Stanford. Following that, he started trucking and worked for Cliff Blair and Polzin’s. Stanley then began driving for Werner which took him all over the country. This allowed him to keep up with family and friends all over the United States. He would send post cards from literally every state he visited. Lastly, before moving to Hobson, he worked for Bruce Walter Trucking running back and forth into Canada as he was the only one that could do that due to his good driving record. Stanley later dispatched trucks from his home in Hobson for various trucking firms. Stanley was a staunch historian and had an interest in politics which he could discuss with you at length. He loved music and could play the piano and accordion by ear and he was a really good singer with a wonderful voice. He never failed to make it to a Bent Willows performance where his nephew and family were performing. When Stanley left Hobson, he moved into Shepherd’s Way and then to the Villa where he resided until the time of his passing. Stanley is survived by step-daughter, Sherry Gillam of Harlowton; son, Kyle (Lacey) Campbell of Kalispell; daughter, Veronica (Jim) Hammond of OR; several grandchildren; sister, Vera (Lloyd) McGuire of Lewistown; brother, Myron (Carol) Campbell of Hobson; sister, Charlotte (Guy) Tindall of WA; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents; step-son, Rob Clark; infant son, Brandon; and brother, Leon C. “Chuck” Campbell. Viewing will be held at Creel Funeral Home, Thursday, February 3rd, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be at Creel Funeral Home on Friday, February 4th, 2:00 p.m. with viewing from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
