Margaret O'Connor Obituary

Margaret "Margie" McHale O'Connor, 82, passed away on January 23, 2022. Margie was born on April 25, 1939 in Chicago, IL. She was a retired meat wrapper from Safeway and a resident of Phoenix for over 40 years. She lived in Boston, MA in the 1960s and later in life spent 5 years of her retirement in Boise, ID. Margie's family moved to Tucson in 1951 where she spent her elementary and high school years. She met the love of her life John "Jack" O'Connor at the U of A. They were married for 46 years with Margie lovingly caring for Jack for 12 dedicated years before his passing in 2007.
Margie is preceded in death by her husband Jack O'Connor, daughter Jacqueline Mitchell, parents Lawrence and Margaret McHale, and brother Lawrence McHale Jr.
Margie is survived by her children Peggy (Pat) Klein, Patrick (LuAnne) O'Connor, Irene (Terry) Mayberry and Kathleen (Tyler Scott) O'Connor along with six grandchildren, Erin, Ryan, Thomas, Michael, Kaitlyn, Kevin, and two step grandchildren Melinda and Wayland and seven great grandchildren. She will also be dearly missed by her two surviving sisters Elean Carroll and Irene (Randy) McAdam as well as 27 greatly loved nieces and nephews, as well as many great nieces and nephews.
Visitation and rosary will be held at Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary 6500 E. Bell Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85254 on Sunday, January 30 from 6:00-8:00pm. Funeral mass will be held, Monday, January 31 at 10:00am at St. Gabriel the Arc Angel Parish in Cave Creek, 32648 N. Cave Creek Rd, Cave Creek, AZ 85331. A private burial will be held in the following days.
